YFC Kids volunteer team members and staff are committed to Loving God, Loving People, and Serving the World through partnering with parents. We want to see kids and students come to know and be encouraged in their personal relationship with Jesus. We believe that community is an important part of that journey. As such, it is our goal to create safe, welcoming and fun environments that allow us to support and encourage each and every child. With this in mind, we have created a COVID plan that will allow the space for relationship to continue to flourish and kids/ students to continue to be safe.

YFC Kids is available during the 10:30 service and has four different environments to best serve every child throughout different stages of development. Here is what you can expect when you bring your kids on a Sunday morning.

YFC Kid's Check In:
Upon arrival, families will be invited to enter through the main entrance of the church found in the upper parking lot. YFC Kids Check In can be found in the cafe area adjacent to the main entrance foyer. Once in line, families will be asked to look over a series of questions concerning their health over the last 14 days. Questions are listed in our COVID Guidelines (link below). We ask that each family would check their temperature either at home or before kids are checked in their classes. A non- contact infrared thermometer will be available at check in area for those that need it. After there has been both a visual and verbal confirmation that the family is not sick and has not been in contact with someone who is sick or presenting symptoms within the 14 days prior, families will be cleared to check in to the classroom.

At check in families will receive a tag for each child/ student that will be attending YFC Kids, along with one parent tag for the whole family. This tag or a picture of this tag will need to be presented to be scanned at check out to be able to pick up their child/ student. Families will be asked to wear face masks in the building and where social distancing can not be adhered to. If a child/ student has a medical exemption, they will receive a colored sticker to be placed on their name tag. Once families have checked in and received their tags, there will be signs and arrows directing them to their classrooms. There will be specific paths with social distancing markers leading into and out of the classrooms that will be used for drop off and pick up.

On your first visit, we ask for the following information: parent/legal guardian’s name and phone number, children’s name and birth date, and any special instructions for each child. This information is entered into our database to help maintain our secure check-in and parent page system which we use to privately contact parents during service if your child needs you for any reason. To speed up the process you can fill out the new family form ahead of time and bring it with you (link at the bottom of the page). In addition to our secure check-in, all staff and volunteers are screened and have cleared a national background check.

Birth- 2 yrs: Little ones birth to 23 months are welcome in our Nursery. Our amazing nursery team would love nothing more than to care for your little one while you attend service. Our nursery area is adjacent to the main auditorium. Upon check in you will receive a family tag with your child specific number clearly shown. If your child needed a diaper change or was ever upset and could not be comforted, your number would be displayed, inviting you to come back to the nursery area. The number display can clearly be seen from all seats in the main auditorium to the left side of the stage.

We will have no more than three infants per one adult with a minimum of two adults present at all times in the nursery. All Nursery Team members will adhere to the facial covering and hand sanitization recommendations. Follow the link below for more information on our YFC Kids COVID Plan.

2 yrs- 5yrs: Kids are invited to join us in class where we will teach a lesson, worship, have snack together and do a craft. They will be divided by age and each classroom will adhere to the recommendations for their age groups.

Our classrooms are divided by age group to promote smaller groups. Hand washing/hand sanitizing will be encouraged frequently. As well as, all supplies used for craft time will be designated to that child and/or sanitized in-between uses.

For snack time all children will wash their hands or use sanitizer before and after eating snack. The snacks and water will be handed out to the individual child by a YFC Kids team member who will wash their hands and change their gloves before and after serving them.

K-3rd: It is our heart that every child would have someone when they walk in who knows their name and what is going on in their life. For this reason, students will be divided into small groups with a consistent leader. Small Group Leaders will be with your child as they participate in that day’s lesson and worship, as well as engage with them during snack and any small group activities.

Students will be encouraged to wear masks at all times as well as maintaining social distancing per small group. Hand washing/ hand sanitizing will be encouraged frequently and as needed for things like snack. While sharing a room, small groups will not mix. The supplies used for any crafts will be designated to that child and/or sanitized in-between uses. YFC Kids team members serving snack will wash their hands and change their gloves before and after serving snacks. Snacks and water will be handed out to the individual child.

4th-6th: Much like our other environments, our Preteen Classroom is a place where students can come and be known. We have divided up our age groups so that as your student grows and matures there are invested leaders around them who understand the phase they are in and want to walk with them through that season. In preparing your 4th-6th grader to join our Youth Ministry, we have created a Preteen classroom that allows them to invest in their relationship with God through worship, Bible lessons and group time (with some snacks and games thrown in there as well).

Students will be encouraged to wear masks at all times. Hand washing/ hand sanitizing will be encouraged frequently and as needed for things like snack. The supplies used for any crafts will be designated to that child and/or sanitized in-between uses.

Check Out: As stated above, each family will be given a parent tag at check in that will list each child’s specific number and a bar code. For pick up, the bar code will need to be scanned and have an approved named person listed on their family profile present. If the tag with the bar code has been misplaced, ID will need to be presented by a named person on the families profile.
